Mercedes-Benz India Posts Record Sales In 2024
Hyderabad: Mercedes-Benz India has announced its best-ever annual sales, achieving a milestone of 19,565 units sold in 2024, reflecting a robust 12.4 per cent year-on-year growth. This historic achievement underscores the German luxury carmaker’s unmatched desirability among Indian consumers, with 200,000 cars sold in India since 1994, half of them in the last six years alone.
Top-End Vehicles (TEV) were key drivers, contributing to 25 per cent of sales and witnessing a 30% growth in 2024. The company’s electric vehicle (BEV) portfolio also surged with a 94% sales increase, leading the luxury EV market in India. Newly introduced models like the ‘Made in India’ EQS SUV 580 and the ultra-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV captured customer interest, while the 2025 roadmap includes eight new models, focusing on TEVs and BEVs.
Mercedes-Benz’s expansion plan includes adding 20 luxury touchpoints across emerging markets like Kanpur, Agra, and Jammu, supported by a Rs450 crore investment by franchise partners. It also launched the “House of Mercedes-Benz” initiative, offering exclusive merchandise via Tata Cliq Luxury.
To mark its 200,000-unit milestone, the company committed Rs75 million to road safety initiatives and unveiled campaigns celebrating its customers, offering exclusive experiences, including a chance to attend the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix. Mercedes-Benz Financial Services also crossed a portfolio of Rs10,000 crores, financing every second car sold in India. The younger demographic of buyers, favoring flexible financing options like STAR Agility, drove
this growth.
